I've been in ruts, like anyone else. Sometimes they are life ruts, other times artistic ruts. It's not easy to get out of them- it takes effort for sure. Recently I found myself in a personal and artistic rut. I needed to find some inspiration. I decided to read. I read about light. About finding light and the absence of light. I read about the truth being in the light. I read about how it's important to look at the details as well as the big picture. I read about using your own environment for inspiration. And I climbed out of that rut, into a sliver of light coming from a bathroom window. I'm sharing some of the results.

Best face of 2013
I Heart Faces (http://iheartfaces.com) is a great photography blog hosting a best face contest right now. I really struggled trying to select one image- only one image, on entry- but decided on this fun shoot, with this adorable girl!! Wish me luck.

A Girl and Her Horse....Senior Photography Ventura, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles Photographer
I had a great opportunity to take some senior photos recently. This gorgeous senior spends a good amount of time riding and wanted to include her horse in her photo shoot. What an amazing setting it was! Portraits are a staple for senior sessions, but I spent quite a bit of time just documenting her interacting with her horse. These are the images I love. The moments between the poses.

P & H at Walnut Grove, Ventura County Wedding Photography
What an amazing venue at Walnut Grove, a fun couple, a gorgeous bride and all around awesome wedding. P & H's wedding coordinator Michelle Spring was such a pleasure to work with.
These two could not have been more fun to photograph. I caught a glimpse of it during their engagement shoot, but the wedding was even better! Congrats to these two- wishing them both many years of wedded bliss and joy to come...
